In the recent auction cycle of Latin American Art we have seen some very positive movement both in strong auction prices and also the mainstreaming of Latin American Art.

As a result of this auction, the prices for Rufino Tamayo’s work will increase, and most likely the work of other Mexican and Latin American masters as well...

The first room featured paintings by Miguel Covarrubias, Rosa Rolanda, Alejandro Santiago, Diego Rivera, and Rafael Coronel, Remedios Varo, Leonora Carrington, Francisco Toledo and Jose Luis Cuevas.

He gets very much into the mythological relationship between man and animals in his works, which is demonstrated in this piece here called the Blue Grasshopper.
