Today we're looking at a beautiful drawing be female surrealist artist, Leonora Carrington. Carrington has really been getting the recognition she deserves over the last three to five years. This piece is called the "Owl and the Prey." It's this very surreal drawing of this owl capturing a mouse or rat in its talons. The piece is from the 1960's, which is a great period for the artist. The line work is very free flowing and is an exemplary use of graphite and ink. On the back of the paper is another drawing, also depicting a bird and signed by Leonora Carrington. We put a custom window in the back of the frame so that the second drawing can also be viewed when the piece is taken off the wall. All in all a fantastic drawing by British/Mexican surrealist artist, Leonora Carrington.
