New light Shed on Watercolor by diego Rivera
In this video, Robert Mc Donald discusses an essay written by Professor Lozano shedding light on a watercolor by Diego Rivera titled Grupo de personas delante de un puest.
Professor Lozano wrote the book Frida Kahlo: The Complete Paintings and Diego Rivera: Complete Murals, he was the director of the Museum of Modern Art (Museo de Arte Moderno) in Mexico City for a number of years, and was heavily consulted by BBC for their new series Becoming Frida Kahlo, where he provided the bulk of the research needed to create the show.
Professor Lozano was able to find the watercolor in his archives, providing the exact time and place where the painting was executed, and the original title; in addition to this Professor Lozano was able to shed more light on the provenance of the piece.
